Good Morning God by Davis Carman is a wonderful devotional book to do with you children ages one through eight. I have a 6 yr old and eight year old that I read and did the activities with this book and they LOVED it. My six year old went to get the book for me as I was writing the review and she said, tell them this book is GREAT, so there you have it right out of the child’s mouth. The illustrations in this book are beauiful, they pop off the page in a real live way and we enjoyed them so much. The book tells us the same line over and over “Mom and Dad teach me when I’m, and then you get all kinds of anwers. Sitting, in church, jumping and many more. At the end of the book there are special activities to do depending on the day of the week, an example would be Draw a picture of a heart, what are some things you cherish? It leads to great discussion about God and why we love and serve HIM the way we do. It keeps their attention because it is short but it does a great job in getting into the hearts of young children without losing them with too much detail. This is a book I would add to your wish list of must haves for your children and grandchildren.
Apologia Press strives to publish materials that help parents in teaching their children’s hearts and minds, and this book continues that tradition. What I love about Apologia materials is that they work hard to get God’s Word in the hearts of many and to educate with a biblical worldview, exactly what I want for my children.
