Day 1: Decorating the House

I can’t believe it is October 1st-WOW!   The weather here took a big dip last night and we woke up in the house COLD so it didn’t take long to feel like fall.

My topic is 31 fun, fall, frugal things to do as a family. To read about why I picked my 31 days of fall fun go here, also I have a cloud tag on my right sidebar so you can click the 31 day series button (1st one) everyday to get a new idea for your family or better yet subscribe, that button is on the right too.  That way you won’t miss a thing!

Decorating the house together as a family can really be fun and it doesn’t cost a thing!  I don’t know about you but my kids LOVE to get out the decorations for a holiday.  They get so excited,  so grab your kids today (perfect for a Saturday) and get out your fall decorations.  Remember you don’t have to be gifted in decorating (I’m NOT the nester, LOL) to make this memory with your kids.  Grab some pine cones and throw them in a jar, put a fall wreath on the door,  or add pumpkins to the porch.  Simple can still be fun and your kids will LOVE it.  You can even have make some fall crafts and hang them up.  (some specific ideas coming later in the series)  At the end of decorating have a hot drink together, hot chocolate is always a hit around here!

    Hi Angela,

I don’t have kids and I am from down under so it’s not fall here but spring…
… but the idea still holds. In some form anyway – it’s time for a spring clean and we recently did clean my flat from top to bottom which took some time (I live in a heritage listed building from the late 1800s with high ceilings, original floorboards and plaster that must be treated with care).

Right now, most of my free, spare minutes are spent finishing off some paintings to hang on those big white walls so I feel more at home and surrounded by pretty things. 😀

I am looking forward to the rest of your posts during the challenge.

    Cheers, Marisa
