First Day of School Breakfast

Well, our first week of school is over, we take Fridays off.  We had a very good week, I truly couldn’t be happier with the results-you just never know how that first week is going to go, do you?

I pulled a small back to school theme together in no time thanks to my hubby who helped out a lot and some great blogs where I totally stole ideas, LOL.  That is the biggest form of flattery isn’t it?

I took some black construction paper and my husband wrote their names really fancy with chalk to make their placemats look like chalkboards.  I took scrabble pieces and wrote in their grade by their names.

My center pieces are mason jars with crayons it it and little bowels of extra letters from scrabble.  Every year I do containers for my kids with new school supplies (each year the container is different)  I got these at the Target dollar bin.

We have a little chalkboard in our dining area and I love to put messages on it for birthdays, seasons, holidays.  Thought this verse was fitting for the first day of school!

We had our yearly tradition of fresh doughnuts from the bakery (forgot to take the picture)  and mason jars of milk and juice.  The kids seem to love it and truly it only took about a half hour to put together.  Enjoy the pictures.

My ideas came from The Homespun Heart and Decor to Adore
