I was so excited to be apart of a campaign for Nutrish for Cats by Rachael Ray.   I know many people are tryig to eat more natural food now days and we know it is much healthier for us when we do!  Rachael Ray designed Nutrish for Cats to be natural food for cats, yes even our animals do better on a natural diet.  Real chicken or salmon is always the number one ingredient in every bag of Rachael Ray Nutrish® for Cats. There’s no ground corn, wheat or soy. And there’s never any poultry by-product meal, artificial flavors or artificial preservatives. Just wholesome whole grains and veggies plus the vitamins, minerals and taurine your cat needs to be healthy and happy.

Our pets are part of our family!  We love them so much and it is great that they make food that we feel good about serving them.  We want them to stay healthy and to be with us as long as possible!  I love the fact that I can give my healthy cat food!

Some flavor varieties include;

  • Chicken Purrcata
  • Ocean Fish-alicious
  • Lip Smackin’ Sardine & Mackerel
  • Ocean Fish & Chicken Catch-iatore
  • Tuna Purrfection

The wet food is also inspired by recipes from Rachael’s kitchen, each delicious recipe is made with simple, wholesome ingredients like real chicken or fish — which is the number one ingredient. There’s no grains or anything artificial either — just essential vitamins and minerals for a tasty food your cat will love.

My cat LOVED this cat food, dry and wet!  Check him out in this video below eating it!  He didn’t even hesitate to dig in!  I love how the natural food just draws the cat in, he smelled real food and went for it.  The video shows him eating both!

My sweet tabby named Ozzie!  He is the sweetest cat and he is so loving with everyone!  Everyone that comes to our house wants to take him home!  They can’t have him though:)

I have always enjoyed Rachael Ray’s cooking shows. I always loved her 15/30 minute meal preps.   Here is a wonderful recipe from her for Teriyaki Chicken with Brown Whole Grain Rice!
Teriyaki Chicken with Brown Whole Grain Rice
For the rice:
1 1/2 cups chicken stock
1 tablespoon butter
1 cup brown whole grain rice
For the sauce:
1 cup chicken stock
about 1/3 cup soy sauce
3 tablespoons rice wine
3 tablespoons dry sherry
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
3 tablespoons sugar (I used honey- yum!)
2 thin slices ginger root
1 large clove garlic, crushed
For the chicken:
2 tablespoons high temperature cooking oil
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
sea salt and black pepper
2 mild frying peppers
1 bunch scallions
In a small pot, bring the stock and butter to low boil. Stir in the rice and cover. Reduce the heat to a low simmer and cook for 2 minutes. Turn off heat; do not remove the lid and let stand for 10 minutes.

Place the sauce ingredients in another small pot and bring to a boil. Let reduce by about half, 15 minutes at medium heat, at a low boil.

Add about 2 tablespoons cooking oil to a skillet and heat over medium-high heat. Season the chicken with light salt and more aggresivley with the pepper. Cook for 8-9 minutes, turning occasionaly. Remove. Add the peppers and stir for 2-3 minutes, but let remain tender-crisp. Add the scallions and toss for one minute, remove from heat.
Slice the chicken across the breast into 1/2 inch thick pieces. Arrange the rice on plates or in shallow bowl and top with peppers, scallions and chicken. Drizzle the sauce evenly over the chicken and rice, serve.

No, I have not tried natural food for my cat. I’m always a bit hesitant to try new things with him because he can be a bit picky and I don’t want to waste money or the product if he won’t eat it.
