Things I Loved About Reviewers Retreat 2012

I recently returned home from Reviewers Retreat that took place at the Great Wolf Lodge in Concord, NC. I had a wonderful time! I thought I would use this post to highlight the things I loved the most about it! They are in no particular order!

Great Wolf Lodge– When I heard this conference welcomes you to bring your family, I was so so impressed. We are a homeschooling family and we love to travel. Money is often tight so to have a chance to take the family with a discounted room and for them to have an opportunity to have a blast while I’m learning is such a win win. We rented a car and drove the 7 1/2 miles to the retreat. Our family really does love a driving trip so this is always fun for us! Great Wolf Lode is just AWESOME, my kids had so much fun! My husband enjoyed it too, there was so much for them to do right inside the lodge they didn’t have to leave for anything. We had a beautiful family room with a balcony and the lodge has a water park with a WAVE POOL. They also have a MagiQuest® where they can take their wands and explore all of these different things around the lodge, this was a HUGE hit with my kids. Even once they finished it, they went back the next day and explored again. My middle son want to live there and my 8 yr old daughter talked about how friendly the staff was, especially the lifeguards. She is used to them being “mean” Her words and the GWL lifeguards come off as caring people who love working with kids. That amazed her! As a mom that makes me really happy!

Small Conference-don’t let small fool you, it was packed with great stuff but it is not a big conference where you just get lost with the information and among the people. You really get to know people-the bloggers, the brands, the ones who put it together (Go Double Divas), Everyone!

The atmosphere- I could NOT believe how friendly everyone was, truly EVERYONE. There was no cliche feeling to this conference at ALL. There were women from all over and from all walks of life and everyone treated each other with kindness. Bloggers were openly sharing tips without hesitation. The Brand reps were friendly and made everyone, small and large bloggers feel accepted. It was just great!

The Workshops & Speakers- I learned so much, I am not a huge blogger so I took so many valuable tips away that could help me grow. I learned how to connect with brands but how to do by being myself and how not to sell out to make a buck. I learned how to grow my audience, how to write better reviews and how to connect with people. I learned so much and took tons of notes.  Pic below is Jennifer James from Mom Bloggers Club.  It was great hearing her, I have been reading her blog tips for years.

The Goodies-I would be lying if I didn’t say I loved all the fun things we received. We received so many things, this is a couple of pics of all the goodies I brought home. I will be giving many of these things away to bless others and many of these things will bless our family. We received everything from cookbooks to batteries, tide pods, our own Elmo Doll and more.  , Pampers gave us a duffel bag with all kinds of fun things in it. We received a backpack, and so much more.

This Seal was given to us by You fill in the Blankz . My daughter loved drawing on it, now it can go in the wash and she will start over. I will be posting a full review of it soon.

Hi Angela! at first I didn’t think I met you…and now i’m seeing my netbook and my pollypocket purse & card holder laying there on the table! I suck at wiring the people together that I met with names and such..then I see something and makes it come full circle! 🙂
