Hello, if you have never been here, Welcome to my blog, I love to meet new bloggers! The first week for the NOT back to school blog hop is our curriculum. Most of my readers know I’m a huge My Fathers World user. I love a literature/unit approach approach to learning but I also am one that likes a packaged curriculum all done for me. For some that is out of the question, they love to be very ecletic and add this and that but for a work at home mom that is very limited on time and honestly, CREATIVITY, a boxed curriculum that has creative in it is just what this homeschooler needs. If you want to read more about how My Fathers World works, check out my sidebar and in categories, it has one to itself, or check out their website.
This year we are doing Rome to Reformation in our history cycle. We will be learning about the Romans, we will build a castle and have a Roman Feast. What I love most about this curriculum is that we study history through the Bible so as we study what was going on in Rome and the Reformation, we will be studying what was happening in God’s Word as well. I LOVE to study the Bible and honestly I have learned just as much as my kids. It is SO important for me that my kids REALLY know God’s Word, in today’s time, they need to be prepared. I love what MFW says in their statement. It is exactly what I want for my children.
Raising Up Generations of Families Who See the World Through God’s Eyes and Live According to That Knowledge
We also use Saxon Math, Sequential Spelling, First Language Lessons, Handwriting Without Tears. I have all of these in my sidebar at the very top, if you want to check them out. You can go Here to see what we are doing for the Arts.
We will also include a couple of extras here and there. We use the workbox system, you can check that out in my sidebar as well. After starting that next year, I don’t think I could ever school differently. I LOVE it! But most of all my kids LOVE it! There are some great ideas for workboxes out there.
Hope you come back next week, can’t wait to visit your little parts of the web too so leave a comment letting me know you were here. And please Follow me, I will follow you back!
